North Alabama Medical Center is a 263-bed acute care hospital that opened in 2018 as the replacement for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. The five-story facility has 14 operating rooms, a 36-bed emergency department with four dedicated trauma rooms, and 52 critical care beds, and serves as the primary referral center for major trauma in northwest Alabama. Anesthesia services are located within the surgical suite and staffed 24 hours a day.
