Sanford Medical Center Bismarck is a Level II trauma and stroke center serving central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota. It is recognized nationally for cardiology and heart & vascular surgery, and has expanded its licensed bed capacity in recent years. The anesthesia department handles more than 10,000 cases per year using a CRNA and anesthesiologist care-team model.
