The William W. Backus Hospital is a 213-bed acute-care hospital in Norwich and part of Hartford HealthCare, serving eastern Connecticut. It operates a Level III Trauma Center and is the only regional facility with a helipad supporting Hartford Hospital's LIFE STAR air ambulance.
