Children's Wisconsin is the state's only independent freestanding pediatric health system and a nationally ranked children's hospital, serving as the pediatric teaching hospital for the Medical College of Wisconsin. Its Section of Pediatric Anesthesiology cares for more than 30,000 children annually across perioperative anesthesia, critical care and pain medicine, with roughly 35 pediatric anesthesiologists (including a dedicated pediatric cardiac group) and a team of advanced practice providers. Anesthesia is delivered by an academic care-team model in which MCW faculty medically direct fellows, residents, CRNAs and certified anesthesiologist assistants at the Milwaukee campus and regional sites.
